Mirrored Music Box

The base of Mount Korhai immediately after barely surviving an ambush is not an ideal time to be fantasizing about all of the ways everything could’ve turned out differently, but Suvi has very little will left and needs to distract herself from the unremitting horrors, so. She thinks about the music box, and the scorpions, and the reflections of every star they could see. She thinks about what the mirror box might have looked like smashed to pieces, so it couldn’t be returned to the Citadel. She thinks about where that glittering tool might be now, amost home.
